September was an exciting month at We Free Women as we launched our first day retreats.
We were thrilled to be able to offer 16 very deserving women from Devon and Cornwall a fully funded retreat day filled with wellness and self care from incredible practitioners. Not only did we launch our first day retreats, we also curated the retreat programme to focus on nutritional, lifestyle and spiritual support for guests going through hormonal changes, perimenopause and menopause.

Our retreat angels and volunteer practitioners hosted eight ladies on each day at the incredible Berry Barn, Hartland, a brand new converted barn which has been designed to host retreats, complete with a glass walled meditation room; yoga deck; guided barefoot walk and fantastic communal areas including a stunning first floor living and dining room.

Our guests were welcomed at 9am with nourishing smoothies and homemade dips; and were guided through opening and closing ceremonies; a nutritious lunch and mocktail; breathwork; a hormones masterclass; bulletproof coffee demonstration; a cacao ceremony and somatic movement experience and a gua sha and crystal facial massage class. At the end of the retreat, they left with a goody bag and a picnic dinner so that they didn’t have to cook when they got home.

The feedback from guests has been incredible, and on each day the group of ladies bonded and stayed in touch on a WhatsApp group, so that they are able to continue supporting each other as they bring the tools, techniques and wellness tips into their everyday lives.

We are so grateful for all of the donations, partners and therapists who have supported us and who allow us to host very deserving women on fully funded retreats.

A huge thank you to the following people - you are amazing and we would not be able to host these retreats without you!

  • Chrissie at Caribbean Kitchen for creating such gorgeous food for our guests

  • Hannah at Cascad who held space for our guests and led them through the day beautifully

  • Luisa who led our guests in breathwork, the cacao ceremony and the somatic movement to uplifting tunes at a silent disco

  • Debs who not only hosted us at Berry Barn but who led the guests through gua sha facial massage, using delectable oil gifted by Kate Moss’s Cosmoss

  • Ben at Berry House who loaned us his cottage to prepare food for our guests and volunteers

We believe in paying it forward!
